Moong Dal and Paneer Chila

Chila are like creepes. It is made of variety of daal (here we will see only moong dal), and the addition of paneer makes this chila look so attractive and makes everyone to have it.




Being high in proteins and fibres this has become many people favourite snack/ breakfast items.

Ingredients


• 1/2 cup yellow moong dal (split yellow gram) , soaked for 3 to 4 hours • salt to taste • a pinch of asafoetida (hing) • 2 pinches of sugar • 1 1/2 tsp green chilli paste • 8 tbsp crumbled low-fat paneer (cottage cheese) • 4 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania) • 1 tsp chaat masala • 1 tbsp besan (bengal gram flour) (optional) • 2 1/4 tsp oil for greasing and cooking



Instructions

1. In a mixer, combine moong dal with water and blend to form a smooth paste. Transfer to a bowl and mix in salt, asafoetida, sugar, and green chilli paste. 2. In a non-stick tava (griddle), add ¼ teaspoon of oil and when hot pour a ladle full of batter and spread it in an even manner to make a thin round of around 4 inches. 3. Now sprinkle 2 tablespoons of paneer, 1 tablespoon of coriander and ¼ teaspoon of chaat masala. Cook on both sides until golden brown using ½ teaspoon of oil. 4. Repeat the above steps to make three more chilas.
